Spring Fever – Beginning to Welcome Spring

The birds are getting a little chattier, the days are getting longer and every so often there is a whiff of an earthy smell that means spring is around the corner.  Spring is a time of renewal and re-birth.  It’s often a refreshing and rejuvenating time in the cycle of seasons.  A little more sun and Vitamin D helps to lift mood and energize us.  How will you use this natural opportunity to re-ignite your intentions?

Welcome spring into your life by opening up your horizons.  When we go from shorter days to longer days, there is a natural opportunity to create expansiveness.  Let the small, dark moments of winter slip away and broaden your view as the daylight hours get longer.  Step back with a mindfulness practice or flow into more movement.  If you haven’t been exercising outside, consider taking your movement to the trail.  If you haven’t been exercising, begin walking and re-connecting with nature.  Pick up your journal, find new recipes, and try new ways of thinking and responding.

One of the beautiful things about spring is that it unfolds.  Like a blooming young flower, it slowly opens to the world.  We don’t have to do anything special; simply water and feed a young bud and it will blossom.  So, nourish yourself with beautiful things – healthy food, positive time with positive people.  Water and feed the soul.  Think of this time as naturally unfolding with gentle self-care and mindfulness.
