Integrative Acupuncture:

Update: Acupuncture unavailable at this time

Due to the current COVID-19 crisis and OIC’s concern for the health and safety of our community, we are not offering acupuncture services at this time. Our acupuncture providers do not have the same options of working remotely. Every person at OIC is an integral part of our team, and we want to support our teachers and practitioners who are not able to practice and offer their services. You can help us support them by donating to our GoFundMe.  All funds will go directly to our teachers and providers needing financial support. Thank you for supporting our integrative community!

Connecting to a balanced body

Integrative Acupuncture is the stimulation of points on the body with small, fine, flexible needles. It can be used to disrupt illness, disease, or pain that is interfering with our flow of energy, or “qi.” Over time, these energetic pathways may experience illness, stress, or disease and can become obstructed or overactive, leaving us in pain. These areas are examined and needled, in conjunction with light massage or heat to improve mobility, comfort, and overall well-being. Adjustments to these energetic pathways allow us to reach optimal health, to live life to the fullest.

Acupuncturists at OIC are Licensed Acupuncturists also practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which encompasses acupuncture, massage, and other modalities to allow energy flow and whole-body interaction when getting down to the root cause of the pain. Our practitioners look at the whole person and develop an individualized treatment plan to meet your health and wellness needs. This may mean bringing in other modalities within OIC’s practice, such as massage, reiki, clinical herbalism, yoga, meditation, primary care, or counseling.

Acupuncture has been shown to be helpful with the following conditions:

  • Nausea (including chemotherapy-induced nausea)
  • Dental pain and TMJ
  • Chronic pain conditions
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Headaches, including migraines and tension headaches
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Infertility
  • Menopausal symptoms
  • Stress-related conditions
  • Depression and anxiety, including PTSD symptoms

In addition to providing acupuncture and TCM, OIC acupuncturists work within our integrative team of practitioners.  This integrative environment gives our treating practitioners access to a broad range of training and resources to help create a holistic treatment plan.
