Being Mindful on Easter, Religious or Not..
Easter can mean many different things to different people. Whether you celebrate with religious meaning, or just a spiritual connection, Easter can teach us about finding our purpose through re-alignment and connection, especially in the society we are living in today.
Many holidays, especially religious ones, are celebrated at the change of the season, and Easter is no different. Easter falls close to the vernal equinox, which is a day of equal lightness and darkness (March 20th).
Easter is a sign to a hurting world, with doubts and struggles, that we cannot and have not given up. It is an opportunity, a celebration, for everyone to be invited into new creation. Think of Easter as a refreshment, a splash of cool water to the face, an opening of a new door.
To explore the mindfulness that Easter can play into our lives is interesting, especially as we try to navigate the traditional and religious aspects it plays in society. However, no matter how you plan to celebrate, or not celebrate, Easter this year use the day to recharge, check in with yourself, and allow a new opportunity to arise within. Spend the day finding some cherishing love with those around you, eating together, and enjoy the Spring weather. However you celebrate the budding creation we hold within, ensure it is accessed from a place of love, kindness and thoughtful awareness.
