Beatres Mondi

MSW Student

Beatres (she, her, hers) is a graduate student/intern at the University of
Nebraska at Omaha. She is currently working towards her Master of Social
Work degree. Her education also includes a B.A in Psychology and
Associate of Arts. Beatres’ goal is to continue her educational experience
and complete her licensure to become a Licensed Independent Clinical
Social worker (LICSW) and Licensed Independent Mental Health
Practitioner (LIMHP). She also has a passion for trauma-informed
modalities, mental health advocacy, and policy work and hopes to
incorporate that into her future plans. Beatres is fluent in Arabic (Sudanese
and Egyptian dialect) and Madi’ South Sudanese tribal language. She has
extensive experience working in inpatient and outpatient settings as a
behavioral support specialist in Psychiatric hospitals and eating disorder
clinic where she provided companionship support to patients and family
members and facilitated therapeutic discussions.

Beatres recently completed her internship at Children’s Hospital with Child
Advocacy Team where she provided supportive counseling to parents and
families to ensure proper care and connected them with community
resources and therapy resources. Working with individuals with cultural and
systematic trauma, diverse background, and individual of all identities is
something that she hopes to dive more into in her practice. Beatres is
interested in working to become skillful in trauma-informed care, IPT, CBT,
and techniques for mindfulness. Through her personal experience and
education experience, she has learned that it is important to be intentional
about how our society views and talk about mental health and be a positive
support system for those who are struggling.
