Michele Yanney-Wehbi (she, her, hers) has over 20 years of experience as a therapist. She has
worked in a variety of settings including community mental health centers, outpatient clinics, a
subacute treatment facility, and private group practice. Michele has gained a broad base of
experience while practicing therapy. She has worked with individuals and couples of diverse
backgrounds. Michele has experience with clients on a range of issues including depression,
anxiety, life transitions, grief/loss, relationship difficulties, marital issues. and substance use
issues.
Michele views therapy as a collaborative process in which the client is a vital part of establishing
treatment goals and working on a plan to meet those goals. Life can be inherently challenging,
yet clients can meet those challenges with the appropriate guidance and support. Developing
resilience and coping skills are the keys to meeting life’s challenges. Michele looks for the
coping skills each client already possesses and focuses on developing those skills and fostering
self-esteem. She believes that the foundation for resilience begins with simple yet important self-
care strategies such as following a healthy diet, maintaining a regular sleep schedule, and
exercising regularly.
In her practice, Michele uses techniques from multiple approaches including Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.
Her approach with each client is personalized for their specific issues and needs.
Michele is a graduate of the University of Wyoming, where she earned a master’s degree in
counseling. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology from the University
of Nebraska at Kearney.
