Integrative Therapy

Support to navigate life’s challenges

At Omaha Integrative Care, our licensed mental health therapists and psychologists practice traditional counseling as well as integrative mental health counseling. Therapists utilize evidenced-based practices in addition to complementary therapy models to fit the individual needs of clients.

Our integrative therapists provide individual, couples, family and group therapy. Therapy can help you improve your mood, create healthier relationships, manage symptoms, and move through the transitions of life with more ease.

Through one-on-one sessions with our experienced therapists, you’ll gain an understanding and awareness of how you interact with the world. By learning vital coping skills to help you remain present and whole, you’ll be better equipped to support and nurture your emotional health. It is also an opportunity to explore old or unhealthy patterns, as well as go deeper into a new phase of personal growth.

We take a holistic view to support you and may explore evidence-based ways to help lessen your symptoms, such as nutrition/lifestyle changes, exercise, stress-reducing techniques, and mindfulness. Ultimately, each therapy experience is unique to each individual and is guided by you as the client.

Occupational Therapy

OIC also offers specialized Occupational Therapy. Occupational therapy is the only profession that helps people across the lifespan to do the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of daily activities. Holistic occupational therapy incorporates a variety of integrative and complementary health approaches, including but not limited to yoga, Reiki, meditation, visualization, aromatherapy, life coaching, and nutrition counseling.

The initial session consists of a detailed health and medical history gathering process where a holistic examination will be performed. Your practitioner will then customize a comprehensive treatment plan for you, and you will receive any recommended healing modalities the same day. Follow-up sessions will build upon your treatment plan.

Psychological Testing at Omaha Integrative Care

Psychological evaluations at OIC can serve a number of different purposes. Most commonly, clients are referred for testing to clarify diagnoses to guide treatment with specific therapies and/or medications. Sometimes, a mental health practitioner can hear an individual’s symptoms and make a diagnosis with reasonable certainty, without giving any assessment measures. Other times, when symptoms are complex or treatments are not as effective as expected, clients are referred for testing.

Psychological assessments help to quantify a client’s symptoms using specific tests. Typically, treatment recommendations are offered after the assessments. Treatments may include psychotherapies, medications, and/or behavioral/integrative interventions. The psychologist will then collaborate with the client’s existing practitioners to create a more comprehensive integrative healthcare plan to best serve the patient.
