Karie Andersh

Karie (she, her, hers) raduated from Mount Marty College in Yankton, SD, with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and earned her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling at Montana State University in Bozeman, MT. She is currently a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner and Certified Professional Counselor in the state of Nebraska, as well as a National Certified Counselor through the NBCC.

Karie works with adults who experience feelings of depression, anxiety, stress, grief, or low self-esteem. She also works with individuals who are experiencing relationship distress, a difficult life transition or have a history of trauma. Karie incorporates mindfulness and works from an Internal Family Systems framework in order to help you connect more deeply with your true Self, heal past wounds, decrease current symptoms, and feel more empowered. Her work also draws from Brene Brown’s work on shame and vulnerability and Kristin Neff’s work on self-compassion.

Deciding to seek counseling can be difficult. Karie understands how overwhelming and vulnerable finding a counselor can be, so she makes it a priority to create a safe space for you to show up exactly as you are. She will take her time getting to know you and what you’re wanting to work on so you can decide together if her style and approach meet your needs. Karie believes that counseling begins with a meaningful connection that allows you to feel comfortable and empowered. She believe everything you need is already inside of you and views her job as helping you access your inner resources and being a guide on your journey of self-discovery and personal growth.
