BodyWork Types

Deep Tissue Massage

A deep tissue massage is a particular massage technique that uses slow strokes and sustained pressure to target the inner layers of muscles, deep below the surface. It’s used primarily to treat musculoskeletal problems and to aid recovery from vigorous physical activity or sports injuries, but it also has wider applications that can improve the body, mind and soul of anyone receiving the treatment. Deep tissue also improves pain, decreased stress levels, increase circulation, improved blood pressure, breaks up scar tissue, and can aid the healing of injured muscles.

Swedish Massage

Classic massage, also known as Swedish massage, is meant to help you relax, release stress, and ease physical pain. Swedish massage is a foundational massage modality that uses light to medium pressure. Massage therapists may use a variety of techniques, including rubbing, kneading, and long gliding strokes. Our massage therapists may also incorporate other techniques, including deep tissue massagecuppingcranial sacral therapy, or essential oils. If you are interested in these, please discuss with your provider at the time of service to determine if they would be a good fit.

Ear Seeds

Ear seeds are a form of acupressure or reflexology of the ear. Pellets or ‘seeds’ are placed on specific areas of the ear to stimulate a more balanced body. Seeds can last up to two weeks.

Ear seeds are used for reducing inflammation, back pain, migraines, digestive issues, stress and anxiety, balancing hormones, fertility, weight loss and addiction. In some cases only one session is needed, but for something such as fertility and chronic issues more sessions are needed.

We offer a 30-minute ear seed session or a combination of a 30-minute ear seed session followed by a 60-minute massage.

Fertility Enhancing Massage

Fertility Enhancing Massage, or FEM, utilizes massage and related techniques to enhance the health and functioning of the pelvic and abdominal organs, promote fertility, and support overall mental, emotional, and physical well-being. A unique healing journey, the four parts of the protocol focus on cleansing the body, enhancing the blood, opening the breath, and relaxing and integrating. Each session complements a specific time in the client’s menstrual cycle, whether natural or assisted through reproductive treatments. For more details on the specific benefits of each part of the series, check out this FEM information page.

Prenatal Massage

Prenatal massage is similar to Swedish massage and can help relieve pain and discomfort associated with pregnancy, decrease feelings of anxiety/depression, and improve labor outcomes and newborn health. Depending on your body and the stage of your pregnancy, the massage therapist may use certain modifications, body positions, or props to ensure safety and comfort for both you and your baby. This may include lying on your side or using pillows or bolsters to cradle and support the belly.

Integrative Chronic Pain Therapy

Using a combined approach weaves massage therapy with pain recovery coaching to address chronic pain from both the body and the nervous system. Gentle, intentional bodywork helps calm tension and build physical safety, while coaching supports retraining the brain’s pain response. Together, they create a supportive path toward lasting relief, restored movement, and greater trust in your body.

Cranial Sacral Therapy Massage

Cranial sacral therapy massage is a gentle, non-invasive form of bodywork that focuses on the craniosacral system, which includes the bones, membranes, and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. The therapist uses light touch and gentle manipulation to release tension and restrictions in the craniosacral system, which can help to improve the functioning of the nervous system, reduce pain and discomfort, and promote relaxation and overall well-being.

Cupping: Dynamic & Myofascial

Dynamic cupping is a type of massage therapy that uses silicone or plastic cups to create suction on the skin and underlying tissues, and then moves the cups around the body to create a massage-like effect. The cups are placed on the skin and then suction is created by either using a hand pump or by heating the air inside the cup. The therapist then moves the cups around the body, using a variety of techniques such as gliding, shaking, and tapping, to create a dynamic and rhythmic massage.

Late cancellations (less than 24 hours notice) and No-call/No-shows will incur a $25 fee for 30-minute appointments and a $50 fee for appointments over 30 minutes.
