Animals, Actually

For a moment think about what brightens your day. Does a walk outside make you cheerful? Maybe it’s a conversation with a special person you don’t see very often. Or perhaps it’s the sound of your lovable dog scrabbling on the floor to greet you as you enter the door. No matter the pet, animals and pets play a big part in our happiness and our overall mental health.

Sure, maybe your puppy isn’t your best friend all the time. Pets and animals in general may make messes and cause some minor disasters, but we can’t help but feel happy when we are around them. Pets are loyal beings, and they will always provide company and support to their owners. Even though this may seem insignificant, this companionship can really lift your spirits through unconditional love. We are important to them, and this affects our overall mental health in a really positive way. Your dog, cat, fish, ferret, gerbil makes you feel like you matter.

You may be wondering, what if I don’t have pets? I can’t relate to this at all. Well what about animals at the zoo? Seeing all the beauty and just pure personality of all those animals might bring a smile to your face. Most importantly, animals really put things in perspective for us. Through our actions, we may be helping or harming them. It is important to be mindful about all the other creatures that coexist on this earth!

So give your pet a hug and blow them a kiss! They will always emit a unconditional love and loyality and cheer you up more than you know!
